Following the success of Melbourne for Visitors and Casual Cyclists, Matthew developed a concept for a full blown city guide for urban cyclists, The Casual Cyclist’s Guide: Melbourne.
Featuring 25 original riding routes along with contributions from Melbourne chefs, designers, illustrators, architects and historians, the 60,000 word, 220-page book was tied together with hand-drawn maps and designed by renowned local practice Studio Pip & Co.
Released in 2012 through Hardie Grant Publishing, the book has gone on to sell over 10,000 copies in Melbourne and won an Australian Graphic Design Association award. A fully updated edition was produced in 2014.
