Matthew Hurst is a Melbourne based writer, editor, custom content producer and lo-fi entrepreneur.

 

His body of work spans the design, media and publishing, arts, events and hospitality sectors.

As a writer and editor Mathew has contributed feature articles and produced content for a range of major global design, lifestyle and travel publications including Frame, Vogue Living, Mr & Mrs Smith and Artichoke.

In 2013 he was commissioned to launch and edit a new online design publication Open Journal, creating its concept and managing its design and development.

As a copywriter he has worked for a range of renowned design studios, branding agencies, architecture practices and arts organisations.

Also active in his own creative endeavours, Matthew founded urban bike rental service The Humble Vintage and is the author of Melbourne city guidebook The Casual Cyclist’s Guide, released in 2012 to great sales success.

Design literate and with a fine network of graphic designers and web developers on call, Matthew has also managed and delivered websites and print material for a range of savvy small businesses.
